Saltire Patisserie diversify for future success

10th June 2020

In times of late our loyal members have perhaps had to “pivot” due to COVID19.

Scotland as a whole is no exception.  Business leaders and directors the world over are furiously searching for ways in which they can adjust their usual business offering in order to fight for survival in their specialised area of expertise.  The Hospitality Industry is no exception.  As one of the most affected industries in Scotland at this uncertain time, the Hospitality Industry has seen many businesses diversify into areas that they would most likely never entertain under “normal” circumstances.

Saltire Patisserie have recently diversified their standard business blueprint and entered the ring with their boxing gloves firmly on.   In what should be a celebratory year for Saltire Hospitality, with 2020 marking their 20th year in the industry, this Scottish catering company and their sister company, Saltire Patisserie, have had the initiative and ability to diversity into unknown territory.

As one of the most valued services within the Saltire operation, Saltire Patisserie was established in 2006 as Saltire Hospitality recognized that the only way of assuring freshness and quality of bakery items, desserts and associated products was to prepare these items internally under the Saltire brand.

Under the expert guidance of their Master Baker, Ian Blackley, and supported by his talented team of bakers, Saltire Patisserie produces an enticing range of products to Saltire Hospitality as well as major hotel chains, restaurants, cafés and public shows such as Gardening Scotland and The Royal Highland Show.

Known for their delectable strawberry tarts and steak pies, this innovative company is proud to work alongside clients and organizations to create specialized products for those looking for something a bit different.  In short, this family owned company has confidently made its mark on the baking and Hospitality Industry here in Scotland’s capital.  It is their recent development however that is receiving some well deserved attention.

Saltire Patisserie have recently modified their offering in order to allow the general public to access their tasty treats despite the closure of many restaurants, cafés and events where their mouthwatering products are usually on offer.

In June 2020, Saltire Patisserie To You, was officially launched and their delightful range of hand finished products can now be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home.  With items such as “The Bread & Patisserie Breakfast Box” and the “Treat box for Two” available, Saltire Patisserie guarantee there is something on offer for everyone.  With a view to change their offering on a regular basis we advise you keep a close eye on their website for menu updates.

Unbeknown to many, Saltire Hospitality is the only caterer in Scotland to possess its very own patisserie and bakery and understandably they are exceptionally proud to declare this achievement to the Catering and Hospitality Industry and to anyone that will listen.  It is their ability to adapt and listen to their customers which has no doubt enabled them to succeed and indeed grow since they first opened their doors two decades ago.

Despite these unforeseen times we are experiencing, we have no doubt Saltire will continue to adapt and indeed flourish no matter what obstacles are thrown in their direction.

Could Saltire Patisserie To You be the new “normal”? We certainly hope so.

Please check out their online shop or visit their website for further information.
