Queen Margaret University recruiting Lay Court members

26th April 2016

Queen Margaret University is in an exciting phase of its strategic development. In support of that development, the University Court is seeking to appoint to vacancies in its lay membership.

Committed Court members are critical to the University’s success. Court appointments take account of personal and professional skills and experience in the context of the overall composition of the Court. Currently, we are particularly interested to hear from individuals with specific expertise developed within the finance, education, health, legal or food and drink sectors, or who have a strong background in estate and property development. Applicants with other specialist knowledge and skills are welcome.

The University is seeking individuals with experience of operating at strategic or board level, or who are able to demonstrate a track record of success in professional areas of expertise. Consideration will be given also to individuals who demonstrate the capacity to develop the required knowledge once they are in the role.

Queen Margaret University is committed to ensuring that its Court represents the staff, students and community it serves. Applications are welcomed particularly from women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and applicants who would further enhance the diversity of the Court.

Further information about the role of Court members and the application process is available on our website here

Informal enquiries may be directed to Irene Hynd, University Secretary (ihynd@qmu.ac.uk). The closing date for application is Friday, 13 May 2016.
