Midlothian & East Lothian’s finest food and drink businesses were recognized at a prestigious awards ceremony at Eskmills Venue

1st April 2019

Culinary stars from across East Lothian and Midlothian were hailed at the 2019 Mid & East Lothian Food & Drink Awards on 27th March.

The event, hosted by The Mid & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with East Lothian Food and Drink and The Business Partnership, attracted around 200 guests who gathered at Eskmills Venue, Musselburgh to hear who had won the top prizes in 9 fought categories.

These awards are designed to showcase the great and the good in the region, and reward the hardworking people behind them, including best restaurateurs, hoteliers, pub landlords, café owners and food and drink producers.

Keith Barbour, Chief Executive of Mid & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce said, “We have had a fabulous response to these awards. East Lothian & Midlothian are rightly renowned for the quality of their food and drink and we are so pleased to help recognise those in the industry who have excelled."

“I would like to express my thanks to our sponsors, all those who took time to enter and the judges for ensuring that every entry was scrutinised and deliberated on as part of our process of deciding on tonight’s winners.”

He added: “We must also congratulate all the shortlisted businesses. Despite not winning tonight, the very fact they were in the running is a major achievement, so well done to them too.”

Category winners each received a special Food and Drink Awards trophy and a bottle of 12 Year Old Single Malt, courtesy of Glenkinchie, East Lothian’s very own whisky distillery. All winners are listed below:
