General Data Protection Regulation GDPR - Help for Employers

1st February 2018

The new GDPR regulations come into effect as from the 25th May 2018.  The implications for you as a business owner are many and varied and the responsibility lies with you to ensure that you are compliant. Failure to do so can lead to significant fines. We know that for a small business changes to legislation can create pressure at a time when you need to be able to concentrate on your business delivery.

If you are not aware of your obligations under GDPR we recommend that you visit the ICO website.

Whilst you have actions under GDPR that go wider than HR, such as marketing activity and handling customer data, here at The HR Dept we are able to use our HR expertise and knowledge of GDPR to support local SMEs to meet your employer obligations and to reduce exposure of their business to risk under this legislation.

How we can support you:

Based on current ICO guidance, we will do this by providing SMEs with:

A GDPR compliant update to your existing employment contracts

An up to date Data Protection Policy

   A Subject Access Request Policy

A Privacy Statement to issue to employees

We are able to offer this support package to local businesses at a cost of £350 plus vat.

Next Steps

Please get in touch to register interest and book an update slot.

We also want to be able to help you with the other aspects of GDPR compliance, and by partnering with our friends at Onestop IT and 39  Steps can help you ensure full compliance with the least hassle. We will be happy to put you in touch and help you.
