BUSINESSES are invited to learn more about The Environmental Placement Programme (EPP) during a free day in the Scottish Parliament in September.

3rd August 2017

The EPP programme links students and graduates with organisations across Scotland and participants undertake projects with a green focus.

They vary from environmental management and carbon behaviour strategies to active travel, waste management and community engagement.

However, EPP can also accommodate other types of placement project work including marketing, event management, IT and engineering.

Co-ordinators match candidates to fit client needs and projects run from eight to 12 weeks. Candidates are supported throughout by a mentor.

Elaine Brown, Business Development Manager for Bright Green Business, who administer the EPP programme, said the national final on Friday, September 8 (1.30pm to 6pm) is hosted by Colin Beattie MSP.

She added: “It is an ideal way to see EPP in action as participants present their projects to a panel of judges.

“The final day is centred around the Members Room at The Scottish Parliament and it will also include a presentation from industry experts, networking opportunities and a tour of the Scottish Parliament.

“The event is an ideal opportunity to hear more about our Environmental Placement Programme but it is also a chance to network and support the great work being done to help build a sustainable future.”

Looking at the EPP overall she said the programme offers businesses the chance to engage with some of Scotland’s brightest, most dynamic students and graduates helping your business move forward.

Elaine added: “All our placements are low risk, flexible and an excellent way for you to engage with prospective new employees. This is an opportunity to bring in new skills, a fresh outlook and limitless enthusiasm to help your business succeed. We take care of the process including advertising, shortlisting, contracts and payroll.”
