5 Top Social Media Tips For Your Business In These Coronavirus Times

22nd April 2020

With the whole world checking social media constantly at the moment, NOW is the time for your business to dust off those social media profiles ‘gethering stoor’ and start focusing on building and strengthening relationships with your ideal clients.

Here are 5 ways you can do this:

1) Keep your followers up to date with what is happening in your business

Right now, your followers may have questions such as: Are you still open for business? Are you now working online? Are you closed for business right now?

Be sure to keep these questions in mind and answer them in your posts.

Bonus Tip: A good time to post these updates is when the Government announces significant Coronavirus updates e.g. ‘Lockdown’ extension etc.

2) Share relevant and timely hints and tips

Let’s say you run a co-working space, you could share tips on:

How to be productive working from home (the million pound question!);

What the best apps are to use for video conferencing;

How to make quick and tasty lunches when working from home.

3) Show your face (s)

People want to see the face (s) behind your business – especially right now. You can do this through ‘Meet the team’, ‘Behind the scenes’, ‘A day in the life of’ style social media posts.

4) Bust the jargon!

Are there ‘techy’, industry or clinical terms you are using that your followers may not understand? Why not dedicate a post weekly explaining what they are? For example: ‘The A-Z of…’.

5) Give old, relevant social media content a new lease of life…

Why not give that transform that ‘Top 5 Tips’ blog into a video? Simply record it on your phone and add subtitles to your video using tools such as: KapwingRev.com etc.

Whilst it is indeed uncertain times for us all right now, one that IS for certain is that social media usage is at an all-time high and your business MUST now be seen online.
