Lasswade Community Sports Hub Award

To enable the legacy of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games to live on, Sportscotland’s Community Sport Hub programme has become a key feature in ensuring individuals and families have access to and benefit from the sporting opportunities in their community.

The Community Sport Hub (CSH) aim is to have a working partnership between  local sports clubs,  schools, community centres and governing bodies to build and provide a network of sporting opportunities to people of all ages and abilities in the community. Each Sports Hub is unique, but the common thread is that they all have five principle goals:

Growth in participation, engage the local community, promote community leadership, offer a range of sporting opportunities and bring all appropriate (key) partners/ groups/people together.

Lasswade Community Sport Hub launched in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength, now involving over 15 sport clubs from the local area.  To recognise the hub’s success LCSH are launching their very own ‘Hub Awards’ evening on Thursday 2nd June at The Lasswade High School Centre to celebrate sport within the community.  These awards are being held, not only to celebrate sporting achievement but to recognise commitment, dedication and sport participation in the local community.  All are welcome along to the event, for more information please contact Judith Clyne (Sport Hub Development Office) Judith.clyne@midlothian.gov.uk or follow us on twitter @LasswadeHub.
